An enhanced visitor experience

Educational and awareness-raising tools

a digital education initiative

At a time when the biodiversity of the oceans is threatened by unprecedented disruptions due to human activities, Nausicaá has decided to intensify its educational and awareness-raising activities by using new digital tools and capitalising on the number of its visitors, as well as on the new facilities of its extension.

The ERDF engineering project has given us the opportunity to develop a series of tools to share knowledge and raise awareness. These new tools are central to the public outreach projects that we must pursue outside the exhibition. They will continue to be developed and will have their full effect in the years to come.

Thanks to these tools, an enhanced visitor experience has been developed to raise awareness among visitors and the entire community of citizens of the Ocean, before, during and after their visit to Nausicaá.

What are the tools for an enhanced visitor experience?

Several tools are available to give visitors an optimal experience before - during - and after their visit to Nausicaá.

  • The Nausicaá website.
  • The development of our interactive forums, such as the Blue Society Forum, which serves both to raise awareness and to gather feedback from our visitors.
  • The Blue Living Lab: incubator for innovative projects promoting the sustainable use of marine resources.
  • The Learning centre: its mission is to facilitate access to the culture of the sea for the general public and professionals.
  • Updates to the website and the creation of the Mr.Goodfish application.

Tools for teaching practitioners

To have the greatest possible impact, Nausicaá has consolidated its partnerships with stakeholders involved in raising awareness about the marine environment in the region: teachers, educators, institutions and professionals. In particular, a wide selection of tools is available free of charge:

  • School sections and teaching resources
  • The quarterly magazine specifically for teachers from nursery to high school: Educaa.
  • The website of the World Ocean Network in the Hauts-de-France region

The development of new tools and vectors through the ERDF project has made it possible to raise the awareness of citizens to ocean issues. The Team for Ocean project takes us on to the next phase.

More than just enlightened citizens, become active participants in preserving the marine environment.
