What could be more fun than lunch outdoors with the sea as far as the eye can see? Nausicaà overlooks an immense beach of fine sand and after your visit or between the discovery of two great worlds, why not take a picnic break? Your kids will love it. They'll be able to stretch their legs and enjoy building some sandcastles.
An invigorating walk
Running alongside Boulevard Sainte-Beuve, the Boulogne-sur-Mer beach stretches from the Nausicaà forecourt to the sand yachting club. The beach huts give it a singular charm whereas the playgrounds just a stone's throw from the aquarium will delight your children.
After you've perked up the troops, the red lighthouse jetty offers a lovely goal for a walk with a unique view of the horizon. You can't get enough of the ballet of boats crossing between France and England? On some days, when the weather's right, you can see the cliffs of the English coast in the distance. A lovely sight.
The Nausicaà gardens
With its tall trees and street furniture, the Nausicaá Gardens are also the perfect place for a delicious break and a stroll! Covering 17,000 sq.m, they offer a restful atmosphere at the foot of the aquarium. A playground and even a mini-golf complete the ensemble. From this natural haven, you can set out for a walk along the banks of the Liane. Reserved for pedestrians and soft modes of transport, you can leisurely walk alongside the harbour to go to the beach without meeting a single car.
Public benches, playground and even a skate-park are on hand for a break before resuming your tour of Nausicaá. But don't forget to ask the reception staff to stamp your hand before you leave the centre, you'll need this 'open sesame' to continue your tour of the aquarium.
