Located in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Nausicaá is the only marine environment discovery centre of its kind! For more than 30 years, this partner of the French Ministry of Education has hosted schools, and proposed educational activities that are adapted to each age group.
With 58,000 animals and 1,600 species to discover, your students will be captivated by this unique journey inside one of the largest European aquariums. Dedicated to discovering, promoting awareness of and protecting the marine environment, it is primarily a centre for education.
To maximise adaptation to your class of children and their needs, Nausicaá, which has been designated a "Centre of Excellence" by UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, has 3 discovery packages for you to choose from:
The self-guided tour, supplemented by educational sheets, lets you develop your own approach, to build and adapt your journey to the depths of the sea more flexibly and to suit your requirements.
The amusing and interactive educational activity, supervised by a scientific mediator, completes the self-guided tour. It is adapted to the academic level of your students. The opportunity to delve deeper into a topic of your choice among the 3 courses proposed:
- Dynamic ocean course: the cycle of water, climate, energy, pollution, currents…
- Ocean Culture course: management of marine resources, responsible consumption, sustainable development, citizenship, professional fields…
- Living Ocean course: Biodiversity, concept of living, classification, reproduction, adaptation, food webs…
The one-hour interactive e-class by videoconference with a scientific mediator on the "climate" theme, which complements the site tour. You will be able to choose between two topics: "Calculating our climate footprint" and "Climate and ocean, let's talk about it" and choose when to do it independently of the actual visit.
